 Full-day tour of Palermo.
Founded by the Phenicians, ancestors of the Carthaginians, during the 8th century B.C., the city bears many traces of various rulers.
The visit focuses mainly on the Norman Palermo of Federico II. Of particular interest, nestled in the Palazzo dei Normanni is the Palatinate Chapel.
A must stopover, 10 km out of Palermo, is a visit to the Duomo di Monreale which contains over 10 000 sq.m. of golden mosaics and its fabulous cloister, renowned for its elegant columns and arab fountain.
In Palermo, your tour maintains an Arab-Norman imprimatur with the following monuments: Chiesa di S. Maria dell'Ammiraglio (Martorana), Piazza Pretoria, Piazza Marina, Via Libertà, Teatro Massimo, Teatro Politeama.

 Agrigento.
Visit of Valle dei Templi di Akragas, the valley of the Temples, an ancient Greek colony.
The Greeks initiated their empire by colonizing Sicily in the 8th century B.C. The visit, unique for its archeological value, includes the visit of 5 temples and a Roman necropolis.
Of particular interest are the Tempio della Concordia in which is embedded a Byzantine church and the Temple of Apollo, the second largest Greek monument ever built.
If so desidered you can stopover in Agrigento so that you may reach the amazing ruins of Selinunte - conceived to be the largest city of Greek times.

 Close by, Cefalù and its Arab-Norman Cathedral and its typical sidestreets face the sea and airfoil boat rides can bring you to Ustica for day trips. Or, in-land, Petralia Soprana and Petralia Sottana offer XVII century treasures, perched at the highest points of the Madonie. |
The heart of Sicily offers Piazza Armerina and its Villa del Casale (III century A.D.), the residence of a Roman Emperor embellished by extensive mosaics, Caltagirone - the Sicilian capital of ceramics and Ragusa formed of the ancient Ibla and the town built above after the quake of 1693. Any further exploration of south-eastern Sicily does require a stopover. In Noto, we can recommend a small structure whose owner who is among the most knowledgeable of guides around.
